Emerson was sales and marketing director at Brompton Bicycle where he held board-level responsibility for global sales and marketing. Revenues grew 436% over those 7 years, and he was instrumental in leading the company’s export efforts into a number of European and Asian markets. Emerson is a qualified barrister, with an MBA from the London Business School and an honours degree in History from the University of Cambridge.
David joined the board of The Edward Alexander Group following fifteen years holding senior positions within the service sector. During this time, David supported a diverse portfolio of SMEs on financial matters including management reporting, strategic planning and implementation, as well as matters of corporate governance and fulfilment of statutory obligations.
Roy has more than 25 years’ experience investing in and managing growing businesses. In 2008, Roy co-founded Oakfield Capital with Michael Patton. He has worked with leading firms including Apax, Providence Equity, Amadeus Capital Partners, McKinsey & Company, and was co-head of Deutsche Bank Capital’s growth private equity business along with Michael. He was also the CFO of Esprit Telecom PLC, where he was instrumental in its growth from $5 million to $250 million of revenue. He was non-Executive Chairman of Axon Group PLC. Roy holds an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD and received his first degree in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University.
Michael has held a number of senior positions in the Private Equity and Investment Banking industries. Prior to founding Oakfield with Roy, Michael was CEO of the J. Rothschild family office. Previously, he was co-head (with Roy) of the growth private equity business at Deutsche Bank and a director (with Roy) at Providence Equity Partners. Michael also worked in M&A advisory at Morgan Stanley. Michael has a first-class MA in Electronic and Information Engineering from Cambridge University and an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD.

Shona Founded McKinney & Co in 1988 with Cath Kidston.
Prior to McKinney & Co she started her own swimwear brand that was sold in Harvey Nichols, Brooks Brothers and Harrods.
Neil has been with Gainsborough since 1989 and has worked across the business in a variety of roles. Having spent almost his entire career in silk weaving, Neil’s vast knowledge of the market and the intricacies of the weaving process are particularly valued by Gainsborough’s customers, particularly on historical and bespoke work.
